What is smartscripts?

Smartscripts is a 100% online telehealth platform connecting patients to Irish Medical Council Registered doctors. We offer support for conditions ranging from skincare to sexual health, hair health, XX XX .

Through our simple, online process, we ask you to answer a few questions, which are sent to our experienced medical team. Our clinicians will recommend a personalized treatment plan and prescription treatment, when appropriate.

How does smartscripts work?

First, complete an online questionnaire, which has been created by an experienced senior medical team. We match your questionnaire to one of our doctors, who may if necessary follow up with further questions by phone or email. Your prescription will be sent to your preferred pharmacy as soon as the evaluation is complete.

How much does the service cost?

We charge €20 for an online consultation when you require a prescription.

How is smartscripts different is a new question. We provide the same level of professional, safe care as an in-person GP visit, but with more convenience because we’re 100% remote and you don’t have to wait for or travel to an appointment.

Just like an in-person GP, our doctors need to ask your questions to assess whether it’s safe and appropriate to diagnose and treat you. If appropriate, as it is with 96% of our presenting patients, we can write a prescription and send it to your preferred pharmacy.

Is smartscripts right for everyone?

No, it is not suitable for every GP interaction. The online nature of smartscripts results in our doctors having to be more cautious than if they were seeing you in person as part of an in-person visit.

In prescribing online, where there is no opportunity to examine the patient and where there is no access to the patient’s history, we have in place especially strict criteria and safety procedures. For this reason, we, unfortunately, can’t help everyone who wants to use our service.

Our medical team follows strict clinical guidelines to make sure we only issue you a prescription when it’s safe and appropriate to do so. If it’s not in your best interest to use smartscripts based on what you tell us about your health history or symptoms, we’ll advise you to see an in-person GP and we’ll issue you with a full refund.

How does smartscripts save me time and money?

We save you time and money by making it possible to get great care without having to see an in-person doctor. This means you don’t need to spend time on the telephone trying to book an appointment, no traveling to and from the doctor’s surgery, and no waiting room. Complete our online questionnaire 24/7 at a time and place that suits you.

How quickly will smartscripts review my request for treatment?

Super-fast!

How fast depends on how busy the doctors are reviewing other consultations. We aim to review all orders within 2 hours of our opening hours. We’ll do our best to help you much faster than that.. Once you complete your online form, you will receive an email and you can track the progress from there. Check your junk folder if you don’t receive an email confirmation after the consultation.

How easy is it to cancel a prescription?

If the doctor hasn’t processed your request and sent it to the pharmacy, you can cancel it and receive a full refund, anytime. If the doctor has processed your prescription we will not be able to provide a full refund, in this case, we will provide a 50% refund. Please contact info@smartdcripts.today to cancel any order.

Can I get a new or repeat prescription?

Yes, SmartScripts can provide new and repeat prescriptions for routine medication, check out the range of treatments here.

How much does smartscripts cost?

smartscripts is an online business. For this reason our costs are less and we pass these savings onto the customer by offering competitive prices. All of our pricing is clearly displayed on the website. There are no hidden fees. Our treatments cost 20 euro.

Hours of service?

The online smartscripts service is open 24 hours a day, 365 days a year. Our doctors usually operate within the following hours of service. Monday – Sunday 9am-8pm. If you are looking to collect a prescription from a late night pharmacy after 8pm please email info@smartscripts.today and we’ll do our very best to help.

How is smartScripts different from your regular GP?

We provide the same level of professional, safe care as a traditional GP visit, but more conveniently because we’re 100% online and you don’t have to wait for an appointment.

Just like a traditional GP, our doctors need to ask you questions to work out whether it’s safe and appropriate to give you care or prescribe. If appropriate, we can write a prescription and send it to your selected pharmacy.

Is smartscripts safe?

It is, as long as you use the service for yourself and answer our questions fully and truthfully and you read the important information we provide throughout the process. Before you take your medicine it’s essential that you read the detailed patient information leaflet that comes with the medication, especially if it’s your first time taking the prescribed medication.

Is smartscripts right for everyone?

No. The online nature of our service means that our doctors have to be more cautious than if they were seeing you in person as part of a traditional visit.

In prescribing online, where there is no opportunity to examine the patient and where there is no access to the patient’s history, we have in place especially firm criteria and safety netting procedures. For this reason, we unfortunately can’t help everyone who wants to use our service.

Our medical team follow strict guidelines to make sure we only write you a prescription when it’s safe and appropriate to do so. If it’s not in your best interest to use smartScripts based on what you tell us about your health history or symptoms, we’ll advise you to see your primary GP in person and we’ll refund your consultation fee.

How quickly will my prescription be processed?

In short, super fast!

How fast depends on how busy the doctors are, it can be as quick as 30 minutes but we aim to review all orders within 90 minutes.. We’ll do our best to help you much faster than that. The great thing is as soon as you submit your request we’ll let you know by email. Please keep an eye on your junk mail also.

How easy is it to cancel a prescription?

If the doctor hasn’t processed your order and sent it to the pharmacy, you can cancel it and receive a full refund. If the doctor has processed your prescription we will not be able to provide a full refund, in this case we will provide a 50% refund. Please contact info@smartdcripts.today to cancel any order.

Can I get a new or repeat prescription?

Where can I use this service?

This service is only available to people physically located in the Republic of Ireland.

Can we prescribe antibiotics?

Yes, however, any prescription of antibiotics must be accurate and professional. We understand the negative consequences that may result from over-prescribing, and thus our doctors will only write prescriptions in instances where such medication is absolutely necessary.

Can I order a prescription for someone else?

No. For legal reasons, we need the person who will use the medication to agree to our terms and conditions, all their information is required to ensure our doctors can safely prescribe. If your friend or relative needs our services, please have them complete the online questionnaire themselves or contact info@smartscripts.today and we will be happy to assist them.

How are prescriptions sent to the pharmacy?

smartscripts does not dispense or deliver prescription medication. If the doctor prescribes medication, the prescription is submitted electronically to the pharmacy of your choice. If you select “Home Delivery” we will forward the prescription to one of our partner pharmacies for delivery.

What if I am having an issue at the pharmacy?

Please advise the pharmacy that the prescription has been sent to the pharmacies healthmail email address. If for some reason they have not received this then send an email to info@smartscripts.today and we’ll rectify the issue straight away.

Will I be contacted by smartscripts when my prescription is ready?

Yes, We will automatically notify you through the email address provided when your prescription is submitted. We suggest contacting your selected pharmacy to confirm your medication is in stock and ready to collect.

What happens if you select home delivery.

Firstly, smartScripts is an online doctor service and not a pharmacy. If you select “Home Delivery” one of our partner pharmacies will contact you to arrange payment and delivery. Our partner pharmacies can deliver your prescription nationwide, using their next day delivery service. A pharmacist will call you to arrange this. They can then take payment over the phone or if you prefer a secure payment link can be sent by email.

If you're collecting your medication in your local pharmacy.

If you want to get your medicines from your local pharmacy then you’ll pay your local pharmacy directly. Keep in mind that all local pharmacies set their own retail prices for medicine, smartScripts does not control the price of medication.
